In May 2024, Westernport Water will be undertaking vapour testing of the sewer system in the Sunderland Bay area.

Vapour testing is a well-established, proactive methodology that helps water corporations to maintain the integrity of the sewer systems, protect the environment, and ensure the efficient operation of essential services.

Testing helps us to find any leaks in our sewers or cross-connections between storm water pipes and the sewer. The vapour used is harmless, odourless, doesn’t stain and is used locally and around the world.

What to expect

We will keep you up to date throughout the process, providing you with two letters. The first letter will be project information and the second will notify you of the specific dates of works at least 7 days prior to vapour test and inspections. Read more.
