In May 2024, Westernport Water will be undertaking vapour testing of the sewer system in the Sunderland Bay area.
Testing helps us to find any leaks in our sewers or cross-connections between storm water pipes and the sewer. The vapour used is harmless, odourless, doesn’t stain and is used locally and around the world.
We will keep the community up to date throughout the process, letting affected residents know when we’ll be testing in their street and providing them with our contacts if they have any concerns or questions.

Emergency shutdown of water supply
Alpha Court, Cowes
Repair works are taking place in Alpha Court, Cowes.
Water will be off for approximately 1 hour, with 11 services affected.
Estimated time of restoration is 1pm, 16 April, 2024.
Civil works - changes to traffic conditions
Bass Hwy, Dalyston Glen Forbes Road, and Walker Street
Westernport Water is undertaking civil works to improve access for Westernport Water staff and contractors at the Dalyston Pump Station.
When: Monday 15 April 2024 until approximately 24 April 2024.
Work hours: 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).
Contractor: SR Excavations.
Impacts: Residents nearby may experience noise, vibrations, and temporary disruptions due to the work.
The speed limit on Bass Hwy, Dalyston Glen Forbes Road, and Walker Street will be reduced to 40km per hour.
Occasional westbound lane closures on Bass Hwy are expected to occur for approximately four days over the course of three weeks.
