CORONET BAY - Cutty Sark Road, Agar Road. BASS - Statter Misson Rd, Bass Rd, Reid Lane, Withers Lane, Hade Ave, Bass School Rd, Stephens Rd, Pender Rd

In response to the water quality events over the last few weeks we will be undertaking Air Scouring from December 29th to January 7th.

Today, 7 January 2021, our contractors will be Air Scouring in various streets of Bass and Coronet Bay to improve consistency of water quality.

Affected residents have been notified by a hand delivered info sheet. Water services will be interrupted for no longer than 4 hours during the Air Scouring process. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Air Scouring involves injecting high pressure air in to the water main to scour biofilm and sediment off of the pipes. This can sometimes result in milky or cloudy water from your tap (pressurised bubbles). If you notice milky water due to air in the pipes, it is only temporary, and can be removed by running your taps for a few minutes.

22 Dec 2020 Dirty or discoloured water

Waterline townships - various

Westernport Water has received isolated reports from customers in waterline communities, regarding the appearance of their water.

Our crews have responded and Westernport Water has a robust testing regime in place that continues to confirm that our drinking water remains safe to drink for all customers.

In recent weeks, Westernport Water has increased the volume of treated water leaving its treatment plant to meet the increased demand for water as we approach summer. Increased flow can sometimes dislodge sediment from within the water main after a period of low customer demand. This has the potential to cause dirty water for some customers.

Westernport Water is undertaking targeted flushing of the network to mitigate the issue. If you are experiencing this issue, please try running your tap for five to ten minutes to flush the water through your system. If it remains, please contact our customer service team so that we can resolve the issue in a timely manner.
