National Water Week

A national celebration of water

National Water Week makes a splash across Australia in October each year.  This year National Water Week will run from 21 – 27 October 2024.

National Water Week inspires individuals, education providers, communities and organisations to work together to build community awareness and understanding of water-related issues.  Access to clean water is hugely important to our daily lives. It’s up to all of us to protect our water environments and resources and use water wisely.

2024 Theme: Accelerating Action

The 2024 National Water Week theme is ‘Accelerating Action’.

This year, National Water Week is all about inspiring changes to help our water and our planet. We all know that water is super important, especially when the weather is changing a lot. So, we’re joining hands to make sure we have enough water for the future. We want to do things now that will make a big difference later. Let’s work together to make sure our water stays clean and plentiful for everyone, now and in the future!

To simplify the theme for children, the theme for this year’s NWW poster competition will be ‘Water for all, inspiring action‘.
