Young water heroes show how every drop counts

2026 NWW Post Comp - Local Winners

In celebration of National Water Week (19 to 25 October), Westernport Water is proud to announce the winners of this year’s poster competition.

The annual competition attracted 140 entries through the online platform, with more than 300 local students from six primary schools and 2 preschools taking part.

The competition encouraged students to explore the National Water Week theme “Water Heroes: Make Every Drop Count” through art and creativity.

This year’s poster competition theme challenged students to think about how small actions can help save water and protect this precious resource for future generations.

From water-saving messages to colourful artwork, students showed creativity, care and a strong understanding of the role water plays in our daily lives.

Each year, Westernport Water staff have the difficult task of selecting the top three posters in each age category. Entries are judged on creativity, originality and how well they reflect the competition theme.

The top three winners from each age group were recently recognised at their school assemblies. Every entrant also received a participation certificate in recognition of their efforts.

Winning posters were entered into the state-wide National Water Week poster competition, to be judged alongside regional winners from across Victoria. Congratulations to Pippa, from Newhaven College, who was awarded second prize in the State’s Grade 1-2 category for her colourful poster.
