Golfers join fight against cancer

Phillip Island and district golfers are invited to join with the Phillip Island-based You Are My Sunshine (YAMS) Foundation to raise money for research and treatment of the childhood cancer, neuroblastoma.

The Foundation has been awarded the Stockdale & Leggo annual charity golf day at Phillip Island Golf Club to be held on Friday, 26 March 2010.

YAMS Foundation was formed in 2009 and is working with the Royal Childrens Hospital Foundation to raise $150,000 for research into neuroblastoma.

Foundation chairman, Mr Murray Jackson, expressed his gratitude for the support given by Phillip Island Golf Club and management at Stockdale & Leggo in making this golf event possible, and for the large number of businesses that have donated prizes.

The format is a four-person Ambrose over 18 holes for regular and not so regular golfers, male and female, with a shotgun start at 12pm.

Lunch will be available from 11am and a barbecue will follow the event at 5pm.

Players may enter their own foursome, or nominate individually and leave it to club professional, Mr Marcus Liberman, to form teams.

Entries for this event can be obtained by phoning David Foote at Stockdale & Leggo on 03 5952 5899 or emaildavid@stockdaleleggo.com.au.
