Westernport Water is pleased to announce that its 2019 Annual Report was released today.

Westernport Water’s Annual Report details performance highlights from throughout 2018-19, describes progress towards meeting customer commitments, regulatory obligations and what the organisation has done to contribute to improving the health and liveability of the local community.

Managing Director, Peter Quigley, is very proud of Westernport Water’s achievements.

“I am pleased to report that we continue to maintain a strong financial position, reducing debt levels and posting a positive profit of $1.9M which will help fund future capital works projects,” said Mr Quigley.

“We continue to prioritise affordability for our customers and have committed to the second highest operational efficiency improvement rate in the Victorian water sector, which is a credit to our dedicated workforce.”

“Being recognised as a Leading Employer by the Institute of Public Administration Australia (Victoria) was also a highlight during the year and is recognition of our positive workplace culture.”

Key initiatives and achievements reported include:

  • Full compliance with Safe Drinking Water Regulations, including details on monitoring and maintenance programs.
  • Action taken to minimise environmental impacts, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and respond to impacts of climate change.
  • A summary of key initiatives and projects designed to deliver efficient and effective water and wastewater services to meet customer expectations.

“We are passionate about the role we play in building a better future for our community and we will continue to deliver value for our customers in the years ahead,” said Mr Quigley.
