Cowes Water Main Extensions

Westernport Water engaged contractors to extended two water mains in 2024 to improve service reliability and water quality.

Location of works

Corner of Chapel Steet and Finlay Street, Cowes and Shearwater Estate Cowes (Between Shoreland Way and Sanctuary Drive).

Scope of works

The new water mains were laid in crown/council land and under the road using trenchless construction where possible.

The new water main was swabbed, flushed, disinfected and pressure tested before connecting it to an existing main – ensuring we get the best water quality.
