National Water Week
A national celebration of water
National Water Week makes a splash across Australia in October each year. This year National Water Week will run from 20-26 October 2025.
National Water Week inspires individuals, education providers, communities and organisations to work together to build community awareness and understanding of water-related issues. Access to clean water is hugely important to our daily lives. It’s up to all of us to protect our water environments and resources and use water wisely.

2025 Theme: Bring Water into Focus
Every year, the Australian Water Association sets a theme for National Water Week.
In 2025, all Australians are invited to “Bring Water into Focus” – a new call to action that encourages people to see water not just as a resource, but as the invisible thread connecting everything in our lives.
It’s a simple phrase with big potential to spark conversations, drive behaviour change, and highlight the value of water across homes, schools, businesses and the community.
