NWW – Primary School Poster Competition

Westernport Water marks National Water Week (NWW) each year by running a poster competition for local Primary Schools within our service area. The competition provides a great opportunity for students to put their artistic creativity to the test by creating a colourful A3 poster that depicts each year’s NWW theme.

This years theme “Water Heroes: Save Every Drop” encouraged students to see themselves as everyday heroes — people who make small, positive choices that add up to big impacts. Whether it’s turning off the tap, having short showers, or spreading awareness, every action helps. By becoming Water Heroes, students can lead by example and inspire their families, schools, and communities to value and conserve every drop.

In 2025 we invited local children from 4-year-old kinder through to Grade 6 to design, draw or paint an A3 poster that demonstrated how we can all be Water Heroes, saving water at home, in the garden and at school!.

Students submitted posters that inspired changes to help our water and our planet, including:

  • not wasting water, to ensure we have enough for everyone, now and in the future
  • keeping our waterways clean from rubbish and pollution, particularly our local beaches

This year, we received 311 entries from 6 local schools and one local kindergarten.

Well done to all entrants and in particular the winning students and school below.
