Leading Employer Finalist

For the second year running, Westernport Water has been named as a finalist in the ‘Leading Employer’ category at the Institute of Public Administration Australia’s (IPAA) Leadership Awards in Melbourne during February 2020.

For 12 years, the IPAA Leadership Awards have celebrated the excellence and innovation of teams and organisations working in, and with, the public sector in Victoria.

Peter Quigley, Managing Director of Westernport Water, was delighted that Westernport Water was recognised for the second year in a row, and believed that the nomination was appropriate recognition for the commitment and care of its diverse workforce.

“Our people are committed to providing top quality water and wastewater services and we are proud of the role we play in building a better future for our customers, our planet and our community. Underlying this commitment is a strong belief that we can do this whilst creating an even greater place to work.”

“Over the last 12 months, we’ve focused on embedding new organisational values, enhancing our workplace health and safety culture, transforming our business systems and providing our people with the opportunity to grow their leadership skills.”

“Every staff member at Westernport Water should be proud of their contribution to being named as a Leading Employer finalist for 2019, on top of winning the award last year.”

“I want Westernport Water to be known as a great place to work, where people go home safe and well every day. Being recognised yet again certainly helps us do that,” said Mr Quigley.
