Who can enter?

To celebrate National Water Week (19-25 October 2020) Westernport Water and the Australian Water Association are calling for primary students to enter the annual poster competition.

Westernport Water marks NWW each year by running a poster competition for local Primary Schools within our service area, providing a great opportunity for students to put their artistic creativity to the test.

Students are invited to create an A3 sized poster reflecting this year’s theme: Reimagining Our Water Future – reflecting what this world would look like to them.

Entries are invited in five categories:
  • Foundation/Prep
  • Years 1&2
  • Years 3&4
  • Years 5&6
  • Special needs students

The ‘Special needs student’ category is open to those enrolled at a special development school or students in a primary school setting who self- identify as a ‘student with a disability’.

There are great prizes to win for both students and schools. Entries close 5pm Friday 11 September 2020.

Judging criteria

Judging Criteria

Our judges will be looking for the following things when judging and choosing the winners of the poster competition:

  • Does the poster relate to our region in the Bass Coast?
  • How well does the poster communicate relevant water‐related issues?
  • How attractive does it look from a distance? (Hint: Try not to have small text / font as it needs to be able to be seen from a distance!
  • Have art materials been used effectively?
  • Does the poster use innovative imagery, design or concepts?

You may use any material you wish to create your poster including photographs, paint, pencil, crayons and collage, however it must be able to be scanned and reproduced as the winning posters will be used online by Westernport Water and AWA.
