Tertiary scholarship program now open

Westernport is now offering a tertiary scholarship for local students who have just finished VCE and plan to study an engineering discipline at university.

The Tertiary Engineering Scholarship Program is aimed at those students who have a desire to return and undertake a professional career in the local area. The program includes a $1,000 per semester award towards books and other study material, as well as 12 weeks of paid vacation employment with Westernport Water each year.
Upon the successful completion of their studies, applicants are offered a full year of employment with Westernport Water.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to provide support to students and help retain their skill and talent in the region,” said Murray Jackson, Managing Director of Westernport Water.
“Often, many secondary students leave for university studies and take employment elsewhere once finished. We would like to see local people return and use their learning and knowledge to improve our area,” Mr Jackson said.
Applicants will be short-listed based on their application and the manner in which they address the selection criteria. Short-listed applicants will be interviewed by a panel of Westernport Water managers.
Application forms can be downloaded from our ‘Careers and scholarships’ section or by phoning Customer Service on 1300 720 711 to obtain a hard copy.
