Small Business Grants to help community

Westernport Water has secured funding for a Small Business Grants Scheme, designed to help local industry invest in water saving measures.

Grants of up to a maximum of $5000 are available to local businesses who undertake innovative projects and initiatives to increase their water efficiency, reduce their water waste and increase sustainability.
The Small Business Grants Scheme is open to businesses and not for profit organisations that employ fewer than 20 full-time equivalent staff and hold a registered Australian Business Number.
The grants will be made available for applicants that can contribute 50 per cent of the cost on eligible projects and products.
The Small Business Grants Scheme is open for applications from customers in the Westernport Water district from 8 August 2011.
Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the positive influence their project will have on their water usage, as well as the benefits to the environment and the overall community.
Applications will be accepted in a two-round process and must be submitted using the supplied forms. Round 1 submissions are due on October 30 2011 while Round 2 submissions close on 30 January 2012.
