Westernport Water services
Westernport Water provides water and wastewater services to around 16,000 customers (60,000 people in peak holiday periods) in an area covering 300 square kilometres encompassing Phillip Island and the district stretching from The Gurdies to Archies Creek.
The average residential per capita consumption for the district is 202 litres per person per day.
Water
- What is a megalitre (ML)? A ML is 1,000,000 litres.
- What is a kilolitre (kL)? A kL is 1000 litres.
- Average annual customer demand for water in the area is around 2000ML.
- The main dam, Candowie Reservoir, holds 2263ML, which is about one year’s customer demand.
Wastewater
Westernport Water’s two wastewater treatment plants process 1100ML of domestic wastewater each year.
