Tertiary Scholarship Program
 

Are you a local student who has just finished VCE and planning to undertake an engineering discipline at university next year? Then you are eligible to apply for Westernport Water’s Tertiary Engineering Scholarship Program. This scholarship is aimed at those students that have a desire and commitment to return and undertake a professional career in the local area.
 
The program includes:
 
  • $1,000 per semester towards books and other study material for each year of tertiary study
     
  • Vacation employment with Westernport Water for a minimum of 12 weeks during each year of study (approximate value $7,500)
     
  • One year’s employment with Westernport Water upon the successful completion of your studies (approximate value $45,000)
 
Applicants will be short-listed based on their application and the manner in which they address the selection criteria. Short-listed applicants will be interviewed by a panel of Westernport Water managers.

Scholarships

The Corporation offers a scholarship to local students about to enter an Australian university and looking to study areas relevant to the water industry. This may include engineering, environmental studies, business management, public relations, marketing or information technology. We offer assistance towards fees and vacation employment, as well as one year’s full-time work at the end of the course.

Careers

Westernport Water works with local secondary schools on their work experience programs by providing careers advice and placements. Students get to see first-hand how a professional, modern engineering and services organisation operates.
