“While students leave the area to study, our scholarship brings them back to launch a professional career in the local area.”
The water corporation has two local undergraduates still undertaking their scholarship-backed studies, both at Deakin University.
Dean Jagoe is studying electrical engineering while Thomas Mitchell is studying environmental engineering.
Last year, the water corporation gave a six-month work placement to Bachelor of Science undergraduate Kellie Young, who gained experience in water quality testing.
Westernport Water is planning its next round of studentship placements and will be inviting applications next month, Mr Gregory said.
