Come clean with showerhead giveway
Save money and cut water use with a free, low-flow showerhead from Westernport Water.
Pensioners, concession card-holders and large households qualify for the free showerheads and a free fitting service.A Westernport Water conservation officer will visit your home and fit your shower with a brand-new water-saving showerhead normally retailing at more than $100.
Then let the water savings flow!
Low-flow showerheads use no more than nine litres/minute, while old-style showerheads use 15 to 20 litres/minute.
If you shower for six minutes, a water-efficient showerhead can save up to 20,000 litres of water per person per year!
Westernport Water’s customer services manager Merryl Todd explained: “We want to help people follow our permanent water saving measures. We also want to help them save money.
“Now that we are off stage two restrictions, our water conservation officers have their workload freed up to fit these low-flow showerheads.”
The new showerheads are pressure-boosted and fitted with adjustable-flow fittings, offering an improved shower experience.
The water corporation has 500 showerheads to distribute and fit. There is a limit of one per household and previous recipients cannot re-apply.
Large households are defined as those with six or more people.
Merryl added: “Once we have supplied and fitted showerheads to our needy customers, we will hand any remainders on a first-in-first-served basis. You can fit them to your showers quite easily and enjoy the benefits of low-flow savings.”
She added: “Everyone has shown tremendous water stewardship over the past 12 months and it’s good to think we can give something back as a ‘thankyou’ to our customers.”
